A client needs to have a gallbladder scan. They called me frantic, but not
with much information. Their baby is younger than 6 mos and strictly bfed.
Mom is having gallbladder trouble and all they were told is that they are
putting a radioactive material into her blood for a scan and that she can't
breastfeed for 3-4 days. I haven't had any experience with this and I have
Hale's book but I can't figure out which page the info is on. For instance,
is it under radiocontrast agents, radiopharmaceutical, or radioactive
half-lives? I was hoping to find more information on his webpage but the
page on radioactive materials is down. I am guessing I also need more
information. What kind of information? I don't even know what to tell them
to ask. Can someone please give me some insight? THANK YOU!
