Kathleen, the paragraph below jumped out at me. The weight gain seems good
although mother is concerned about diapers. It could be that the low tone
issues at birth have not been corrected enough to allow baby to swallow
solid foods. I had a friend with a 9-10 month old baby who was very large
sized just on breastfeeding. He could not swallow solids but could chew them
and then spit them out. A course of treatment with a CranioSacral therapist
created improvement and the ability to swallow of solids for about a week.
Then back to the same old problem. A good SLP then diagnosed weak cheek
muscles and some issues of weakness in the mouth that I can't exactly
remember. By 12 months this baby was cured and eating normally and still
nursing. I would have the baby evaluated (or re-evaluated) by an SLP or OT
that knows babies.

"Baby does not take a bottle, has never been supplemented with formula, and
consumes little to no solid food; she gums it, at most, and spits it back
out. She is sometimes willing to take a sip of water from a sippy or sports
bottle, but nothing measurable."
