Did someone already answer for Finland?
Here the recommendation is 6 months exclusive bf and then to 1 year of age.
It's noted also that some women may want to bf longer, and the WHO
recommendation is mentioned (in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health's
recommendation's for nutrition of children under shchool age and expecting
and breastfeeding mothers). So it's not at least forbidden to bf for longer
*sigh*
Untill last September the recommendation was 4-6 months exclusively and 6-12
months total. Outrageous! And the Finnish pediatrics society is still for
the 4-6 exclusive recommendation. They say it's not really necessary to aim
for 6 months exclusive as we're not a developing country *sigh again* and
they are afraid women will feel bad if the recommendation is too far away
from the average rates of bf:ing. *double sigh*
