For those of you who have had a client suffer a loss in breastmilk
production in the days following insertion of the progestin-releasing
IUD (eg Mirena), have you seen a recovery in breastmilk production over
time?
Patient insert states that for the first five years, "release of
levonorgestrel into the uterine cavity is 20 ug/day."
Has anyone seen a recovery in those affected, without removing the IUD?
Have those who have experienced loss in production been able to overcome
this with domperidone?
Any anecdotes welcome.
