The endocrine system is very complex and interrelated.
TSH is made in the anterior lobe of the pituitary. It's release or
suppression is controlled by the hypothalmus. When released TSH acts on the
thyroid gland.
The pituitary is called the master gland, however many of it's functions
are controlled by the hypothalmus.
Secretion/suppressionof pituitary hormones are activated by signals from the
hypothalmus (hypothalmic releasing and inhibiting factors) in a feedback way
to maintain balance of the system.
