I think that we are seeing that consistent outcomes of early behaviors are
hard to determine--not surprisingly. We have an advanced math teacher in
our "high powered" high school who declares that *all* of his top math
students were colicky, high-needs babies. But even if he is on to
something, being a math whiz doesn't assure a healthy mental state. In
fact, I am certain that those of us who are mathematically challenged have
a advantage in mental health. :)
