Kathy,

Special K latch refers to the giant letter K on the box of Kellogg's Special
K cereal.  The angle is about 160 degrees, just like the corners of a baby's
mouth should be if attached correctly to the breast.  It's just a good
visual for moms to use when checking for signs of a good latch.  I have a
cut out of the big red K that I hold up in class.  I like it much better
than the "fish lips" analogy because I think of a fish having a 90 degree
angle to their mouth when flanging their lips.  Has anyone else heard of
this?
