I used to wonder why my son (my third nursling) would reattach - I would need to reposition and relatch him. I had an "aha" moment one morning listening to him gag while he brushed his teeth. We talked about it and it seems he can't just stick the brush back to his molars, he needs to "get used to it" and then he's okay. Fascinating stuff, isn't it??!
