Dear Renee, When I read your sad, hurting and panicked story about
your friend, and the many points in response about trying to accept
that your friend's perspective is perforce different from your own, I
also hear something poignant in your friend's comments to you. Your
friendship must be very special indeed that even knowing you are a
"bf advocate", your friend would share such feelings with you. To
have developed such trust, you must have sustained a long, supportive
relationship. That matters, too! She's telling you how she needs
you, and what is beyond her limit; would that we all could be so
articulate and brave, or have such friends to receive the message!
Good luck to you as you set aside your own deep convictions for the
sake of your friends'.
