Robin, you say in your most recent post the lady under pressure to
wean is in the UK - I had assumed Israel, which is where you are.
Given she is in the UK, she can certainly aim to get support for her
bf from her health visitor, a healthcare professional which every UK
mother has. HVs are very mixed in their knowledgeand support of bf,
but most would support a mother's declared intention to continue, and
most would be 'mother centred' and not 'doctor centred' .
I have counselled many women who have heard incorrect info and
uninformed opinion from their doctors, and part of what I suggest to
them is to speak to their health visitor about it.
