You know, we are a mixed bag in our profession. I have seen both excellent
and poorly skilled IBCLCs in every aspect - hospital, private practice, WIC
work, etc. I think a lot depends on the IBCLC's attitude about this
profession and her desire to serve mothers with excellence. Those who get
the credentials just to keep the boss happy are probably not going to be
that committed to our standards and ethics no matter where she works. I
guess the same goes for nurse, doctors, etc. Some have only basic knowledge,
some are excellent, and some really bad.
