Dear all:
Somehow I was envisioning my California roots of shapping mall havens when I thought about the Liz
Lange opening of her Best for Mom, Best for Baby campaign. Hoards of women flocking in for the
free goods. Silly me. Her store is on the Upper East Side. Less than 20 pregnant women showed up.
One pregnant woman who walked by on the street was fabulous. She looked like she was 19, well
dressed, not the least bit wilted in the heat - pushing one child in a stroller and glowingly pregnant.
She was a momo of four, nursed all her children and loved it. There were no formula coupons inside,
but they did distribute an Avent bottle and the Baby Talk magazine article. They also had a sign up
saying it was a breastfeeding friendly store.
Lots of security.
We went low key - just three of us, no babies, dressed up as chic as we could get.
Definitely fun for us.
Best, Susan
