Hi, Heather: I'm probably dating myself, but remember years ago, we
recommended blow-drying the nipples after feeding? The joke in the
hospital was you knew who was breastfeeding, because the hair dryer was
going non-stop. This might help your mother to get the area dry before it
re-inverts (and then stays moist, promoting further skin breakdown). Also,
maybe Jack Newman's APNO to get rid of any possible "bugs".
