I believe the original poster noted that baby seems only to have the bloody stools in response to direct breastfeeding. If receiving mom's EBM via bottle-feeding, he doesn't have the problem. I've heard/read this before.
So if this baby is getting vitamin D, I'd think that doesn't change with feeding method -- he's still getting it and would likely react in either case. Ditto for bovine aspects -- or could the refrigeration/freezing and/or reheating affect something?
I'm wondering if some of these babies are sensitive to the breastfeeding process or perhaps to something on mother's breast -- or does something change in the EBM to ameliorate the reaction?
