am an LC in a large medical center. One of the NICU nurses came up to me,
and said that another nurse was quoting from a recent conference she went
to, that foremilk was better for premies than hindmilk, and that the newest
studies show foremilk to have more protein than hindmilk. Has anyone else
heard
this?

Foremilk and hindmilk have exactly the same amount of protein.
It is, however, true that premies need additional protein for optimal growth
as protein turnover is inversely proportional to gestational age.
