At my facility we are planning to bring in 2 OT's for a 2 day conference.
I am in charge of pulling all this together (my hospital has never done a
conference before). I know I need to market the conference to a
multidisciplinary team. My issue is between advertising, speaker fees,
room and food this is going to cost around $10,000. I'm looking for anyone
who has put on a conference before that can lend some insight into my
burning question... To have the money to pull off this much needed
educational experience I need to have 50+ participants. How do you know
until you go throught the expense of advertising if you will be able to pay
for the conference? Plus so many places require non-refundable deposits
and a specific date to be set to hold a conference room. Does anyone know
of any grants for such things? (I did find a NIH grant and may be able to
get money from the hospital foundation). Does anyone know of good ways to
advertise conferences, and or try to do a pre-screening to estimate
participation? Your help is appreciated.

exam through a BF internship...fantastic and feels really lucky to be a non-
RN, IBCLC working on an LDRP unit + out pts.)
