There is still more than enough iron in low iron formulas to saturate all the lactoferin. There is no point to using "low iron" formulas.

"When I need to fortify or supplement breastmilk, I always choose a low
iron formula to do this. This way it will lessen the interferrence w/
the lactoferrin in the breastmilk. There are low iron formulas out
there, although sometimes they are hard to find since AAP does not
recommend them for routine use in infants. "
