Dear Friends:
I worked with a mother of a newborn 5 days ago; she had bilateral nipple
tip trauma and pain. The baby's frenulum was short and there wasn't much
tongue protractility. The mother has worked on positioning and we've kept in
touch by telephone.
Today I made another visit and the baby had gained 5 ounces since my
first visit, which is perfect. In addition, the tongue is now freely mobile in
all planes and very flexible. I bet breastfeeding helped the frenulum to
stretch.
