Hi all,
While it is tempting indeed to want to correct what we perceive as dangerous
misconceptions by others about the way things are, even when we know in our
heart of hearts that it is off topic for Lactnet, please don't. We as
listmothers are asking you as nicely as we can after a long day at work, to
cease and desist, at least on the list.
Politics are everything, they are everywhere and they affect us. When names of
persons in public office or political parties active in one specific country
start to be bandied about anywhere as a litmus test of credibility, we stray
ever further from the path of seeking truth in all things, and we certainly
stray from the path of discussing breastfeeding and how to support mothers and
babies in doing it when it happens on Lactnet.
Let us, instead, marvel that such a diverse group of people as we are, can
actually agree that breastfeeding is important, and even find ways of working
TOGETHER to support it, across political, religious, and national boundaries.
And then let's get back on topic.
