Agreed :)
I was drawn to breastfeeding support mainly for political reasons. I
also learnt (later) how wonderfully breastfeeding 'works' in the
physical sense and how beautifully breastfeeding expresses maternal
love. None of this is in conflict with understanding breastfeeding's
social and political aspects.
The broad nature of Lactnet means (surely) we can welcome bf
supporters whose main focus is clinical, those whose work involves
them primarily with social support, those who manage training of
healthcare professionals, those who campaign for political and social
change to enable breastfeeding to happen, those engaged in
research....and those who take a justifiably suspicious view of the
power of government and business to undermine breastfeeding.
