Winnie,
Pam's is LACTATE and Patricia Drazin has LACT 8 in Illinois. I've got IBCLC
88 in Michigan and had the same plate in Illinois. (In case anyone wants it
since we moved.) I know you've got IBCLC in Wisconsin! Kathy Auerbach used to
have LC WRITR when she lived in Illinois. Annette, my girls always liked
driving my car because the plates were a conversation starter. They were proud
of what I did! I had a BF is Baby's Best Start License plate frame, too.
Before we moved, I had tried to get a breastfeeding license plate for Illinois
as the BF Task Force for the Department of Health (Now Health and Human
Services) had a special commemorative plate issued for World Breastfeeding Week
for several years. Only a few were issued every year and mine were always the
talk of the town. There are so many commemorative plates in many states. Seems
to me that someone could get a bf vanity plate symbol passed. I used to say
that if hunters, fishermen and University of Illinois alumni could have one,
we should be able to have one!
Best,
Mary Kay Smith, RN, IBCLC
Canton MI USA formerly of Romeoville IL and proud of it!
