Dear All:
I don't know of document about the BFHI that says anything about having to
have a private room. I do know that many of the BFHI hospitals in
developing countries actually promote mothers rooming together so that
mothers can learn from each other. Again, its been a while since I've
looked at the documents, but I would bet that there would be more about
rooming in than about the need for privacy. I know that some of the
hospitals in the Philippines had the rooming together actually showed better
breastfeeding initiation rates.
