My current food-allergic infant is extremely cheery even when she spits
up, but it is a clear sign of a dairy infraction. If the baby still
spits when the supply is calmed down, I would take a look at mom's dairy
intake. Baby may not appear to mind, but an untreated food sensitivity
can lead to anemia by very slow gut bleed.
