I recommend something similar to Kirsten's instructions to pump when mom
arrives at work: I advise them to wake the baby an hour before they
have to get up for work, and bf in bed while they continue to doze or
rest. Then after they are showered and dressed, to offer the baby
another feeding, and if baby declines, to pump then. It helps mom to
have a quiet calm cuddle with baby in the morning, empties the breast
better than just feeding once, and reduces the amount the baby will need
while mom is gone while filling that little tummy well.
