My post to the Soothies people:

<Your shameless ploy to increase your market share by 'prostituting' pregnant moms to make billboard signs of their bellies in your advertising campaign will backfire and deter many moms from considering breastfeeding for two reasons:

1) It implants the notion that breastfeeding is not only universally a very traumatic experience from the get-go, but

2) It trivializes the pain that some women suffer for a wide variety of reasons having to do with lack of skills/skilled help for problems with latch, iatrogenic edema, etc. etc. that go much further than skin deep.

I urge you to reconsider this campaign. If  you can't be a significant part of the solution, please don't become a significant part of the problem of women being 'turned off' and refusing to consider breastfeeding!>
