Hi Cindy,

Just wanted to add a thought in regards to the increased calories, using
powdered formula. I know that this is not the preferred item to use but it
may just meet the infants needs at this time.

Our Dietician, had recently given one of our moms the recipe for making 24
calorie out of breastmilk. I retyped a handout with several different
calorie mixtures, using different powders on it. If you would like a copy
just Email me privately, will be glad to share. One other option my be
adding just "Polycose" powder" to the breastmilk. It is a
sugar/carbohydrate and is sometimes used, not as much now as 10-15 years
ago. This might be something to ask the dietician and the Pediatrician on
the next visit.

Hope this helps,
Ann Slaughter RN, IBCLC,RLC
