mammagrams and dental cavities
Hello Patty,
I have had both procedures and for each one, the medical participants do a
lot of whining.
I do suggest that she visit a really great breast SURGEON who can determine
if an ultrasound or MRI breast might offer more clarity than the mammography
(or in addition to this). If they were suspicious before pregnancy, then it is
proper that they seek more information as soon as possible.
Secondly, as the nurse from my dentist called this Monday whispering if it
was alright to do a filling on me now that I just had a mastectomy, I replied
loudly, "Yes, a dentist can perform a filling on a patient with ONE BREAST!!!".
I am still nursing my son. (I did have to take an antibiotic but only b/c
of my recent surgery). So although it doesn't seem like I'm the best example,
I come out of lurkdom (proudly and loudly) to tell you that even one-breasted
nursing moms can have a mammo and get a tooth filled! And heck, if it was
just so easy for a mom to wean, then I'd be giving all my doctors jsut a small
headache. Best wishes to your mom, Felina
