Hi Everyone,
I have a mom who I've been working with for several months. (Long story
and maybe a good case study:-)) She has finally been able to heal a fissure
at the base of her nipple, with some nutritional support and diet changes.
She has been taking a multi B vitamin. Does anyone know of any concerns on
taking higher doses of B's with the baby?
I found a small amount in Riordan - most water soluable vitamins plateau in
breastmilk, Lawrence - same - except B6 which seems to increase in milk as
maternal dose increases. Same for Hale. Sheila Humphrey's Nursing
Mother's Herbal didn't have anything to say specifically about B vitamins.
I would appreciate any input from any one more experienced in this area.
Thank you,
Kerri Zandberg, RN, BScN, IBCLC, LLLL
