Have had questions from a couple of nurses about our purified lanolin
products. Both nurses insist that the use of these products should be
encouraged preventatively, even if mother has no complaints of nipple pain.

Dear Friends:
Where is the evidence that anything applied to a nipple prevents pain or
damage?
What about taking the time to teach good positioning and cue based
feeding? What about observing a feed, looking at the nipple's shape when it comes
out of a baby's mouth, and making recommendations then?
Why the emphasis on product and basting nipples?
