I have a mother who is complaining of extreemly sore nipples and after
working with her for several hours working on positioning and better latch
technique I instructed her to obtain a prescription for Dr Jack Newman's
nipple ointment. I gave the mother the recipe for the ointment and Walmart
and Walgreens pharmacies are refusing to fill the prescription (ordered by
a physician) their reasons were; there is no 10% clotrimazole
ointment/cream available, they need to know what type of 0.1% betamethasone
ointment to use (does there have to be a specific name??) I have given this
nipple oint recipe to ther mothers who have had it filled with no
difficulty (and it worked great!!) but I do not know where they had it
filled or if there were adjustments made. I do know there are differences
in medications in Canada vs the US. Can someone help me???
