Hi Rebecca,
This mum deserves congratulation for persisting with supplying milk to her
baby. Pumping is no fun and it takes great dedication.
On what can be done to facilitate breastfeeding, I have a few suggestions.
Firstly, I would encourage looking into the oral aversion. I think it will
be very difficult to have success with anything until this is done. I know
that there are a number of techniques that are used with babies to do this
and finding an expert in this area wouild be a priority.

Secondly, all of the "tricks" that mums use with adopted babies are also
worth trying. I would especially encourage as much skin-to-skin as possible
(cobathing especially) and consistently offering the breast, no pressure
just an offer. To be in environments where the baby sees breastfeeding is
also very beneficial and if not seeing actual breastfeeding seeing pictures
(posters, in books etc) will foster the idea that breastfeeding is something
babies do with their mums. There's some info on this in an article I wrote
for LLL http://www.lalecheleague.org/llleaderweb/LV/LVOctNov04p99.html but
the ABA booklet on Relactation and Adoptive Breastfeeding contains more
information and the ABA booklet on breastfeeding babies with clefts also has
some info (and might be helpful to this mum just because they are talking
about bio babies and mums who have pumped since birth). Both these booklets
are available at http://www.mothersdirect.com.au/category8_1.htm or LLL are
now selling the relactation and adoptive breastfeeding booklet
http://www.lalecheleague.org/Web_store/web_store.cgi?product=Special%20Situations&cart_id=5900570_12434
(I have no financial interest).

Thirdly, this mum would benefit from support. The relactation/adoptive
breastfeeding support group at
http://www.fourfriends.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?Cat= is a good place to
start. There the mum will find others who think that what she wishes for is
worthwhile and lots of encouragement.

But I would suggest that not just for breastfeeding that getting that
aversion overcome is a priority.

Good luck
