Our lengthy discussion last week of the trials and tribulations of why the IBCLC profession isn't "taking off" as many wish in our first 20 years may still be fresh in your minds. I wanted to mention that there are perhaps a half-dozen articles in this week's Newsweek magazine touching not only on the ongoing history and changing credentialing and practice of medicine and nursing but mentions multiple other health care professions as well. This helps frame our concerns and put them into the context of this point in US health care. (My D-I-L didn't want me to mention the magazine to my granddaughter for fear it would discourage her from aiming toward medical school!)
