I know this is a subject that has been discussed before, but have not seen
any responses from people who use clean vs sterile containers for
breastmilk storage in NICU's. Do any of you have personal experience or
know of research on this topic? It would certainly be more cost effective
to use clean, which would follow HMBANA recommendations, but I am concerned
about contamination of milk , especially for the VLBW babies. Do any of
you use syringes to store those first precious drops of colostrum, and do
you know of any problems with freezing in syringes? Thanks in advance for
any information you can share. Jan
