I have recently started a new job and one of the first things we did was to
measure how many babies were supplemented before discharge. I now would like
to compare this rate with other hospitals in the community (San Jose, San
Francisco area) and the US as a whole. Heck, how about the whole world. So what I
would deeply appreciate would be any statistics re supplementation rates of
well babies before discharge that any of you would be willing to share with
me. I hope to hear from my colleagues in the Bay Area and LC's from across
the country and the world. Statistics from Baby Friendly institutions would be
most welcome. I would love to share best case and worst case scenarios. If I
am able to get a significant amount of info I promise to share it with the
list. I will be making a presentation to the Pediatric Exec. committee of the
hosp. and would like some ammo. I certainly will share their own AAP
guidelines with them but would like to be able to tell them how other hospitals are
doing. I will only share the name of your hospital if you give me permission.
Please e mail me privately as well as to the list.
