This has been an interesting discussion. Those of you who replied to my
question on lactnet suggested that it might well be a good thing to
mention in passing that I am indeed nursing a preschooler. Those who
replied privately suggested that it would be too shocking and might make
them swear never to do it.
I recall in college meeting a mom who disciplined respectfully and slept
with her kids. I thought she was a nut. But when it became apparent to
me that I would be doing the same thing, I was so relieved to know I
wouldn't be the only one.
I also remember, as the nursing mom of an infant, seeing a 4yo girl
nurse, and thinking to myself that I couldn't have imagined it before,
but now it was within my comfort zone.
I will certainly gauge how the class is doing with bf in general. A
couple kids who submitted questions did ask directly how long I nursed.
If I get asked point blank out loud, I will answer, bc dodging sounds
like I have something to hide. Otherwise, I guess we'll see.
