Medical journals push for release of all clinical trial results
Some of the world's most prestigious medical journals have banded together to force pharmaceutical and medical device companies to report the full results of clinical trials, both positive and negative.
The 11 publications, which include the Canadian Medical Association Journal, the Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine, are demanding that all clinical trials be registered in a free public database before researchers begin enrolling patients. Otherwise, they won't publish the study.
