How often does this occur? What are your favourite treatments? I now
have *2* people asking me for help with this. One has a baby who was
premature (she has other children who she nursed for 2-3 mos, stopping
due to thrush) and the other has an older baby (8 mos) who nursed all 4
of her previous kids for a few months but also stopped due to persistent
thrush.
Both are on low-sugar, zero alcohol, low yeast, low white-flour diets,
taking probiotics and prebiotics, treating with Grapefruit Seed Extract,
one has done Gentian Violet (the mom of the older baby) but not the
other. Nipples are cracked and it feels like razor blades cutting into
them to nurse. Both are considering exclusively pumping.
Are there other things one can try other than the regular "drugs" such
as diflucan and such?
Thanks in advance!
