I would strongly suggest looking at one of the syndromes such as Williams
Syndrome. I have dealt with a situation in the past few years where the child
was fading away despite all efforts. Mom did lose her supply which was very
unfortunate as the child did not tolerate the formulas at all well. In his case
he had very little gut motility. You could force food into him but it didn't
move through the gut. He ended up in quite a bit of trouble due to over feeding
and distention and.... It was months into the ordeal before a confirmed
diagnosis took place. For me it was another lesson about listening to the mom.
It was her first babe but she KNEW there was something going on while we were
still reassuring her the babe was within normal parameters.
