Can I ask you (and anyone else aware of cases like this) to consider writing
up the case? I recently wrote up a case of foster bf (again the baby was
very ill which contributed to the powers that be allowing her foster mother
to breastfeed her) and it will be appearing in a journal shortly however,
when I looked at the literature there very very little in regards to modern
wet nursing, shared breastfeeding etc. In fact, it comes down to one brief
paper in Pediatrics from the early 80s, some accounts published in an Austr
BF Assoc newsletter (then NMAA) from the early 90s and a chapter on shared
nursing in Babies, Breastfeeding and Bonding. It's frustrating because there
are many situations in which babies might benefit from breastfeeding and it
is prevented due to ignorance and lack of understanding of how it might
work. We need more out there in the literature!
