Hello, All: Just wanted to let you know some of the things our hospital
did for WBW. We did 2 information tables, one outside the cafeteria and
one outside our gift shop. Heard some interesting comments and got some
interesting questions from some unusual groups - men and older (grandparent-
age) adults. We also hosted an outdoor picnic for our mother's group and
had 22 moms and their babies attend - along with one dad. Of course, the
weather co-operated beautifully - bright sunshine with temps in the 70's
and NO bugs! One of the moms (mother to 7 month-old, exclusively breastfed
twin boys) was excited to be participating in a breastfeed-in Saturday,
August 7 in South Bend, IN.
One of our night staff nurses made up buttons for all our staff at the
suggestion of another night shift nurse (I guess brilliant ideas can be
generated, even in the middle of the night!) that said "Breastfeeding Moms
Rock" with 2 musical notes and the name of our hospital on it. Thanks, Deb
and Bernie! We also provided baby footprint cookies for the staff at
lunchtime. Ironically, our Mead-Johnson rep was there the same day with
lunch for the staff from Panera Bread!
All-in-all, a good week!
