Hi everyone,
Hope all who celebrate Christmas have had a good one.
I am stumped by a call I just received from a mom with a 3-month-old. I
have tried the archives but am not having any luck.
She is having difficulty with her expressed breastmilk separating and not
" going back together". She claims that after expression, her cream layer
stays clumpy and will not remix with the rest of the milk at all and she is
left with clumps or lumps floating in what she describes as almost clear
watery milk. This was freshly expressed milk within 2 hours of pumping. I
asked about how she is cleaning her pump, bottle etc and nothing out of the
ordinary. She has tried swirling, gentle mixing , shaking it and it will
not remix.
Anyone see this before? If so, what causes it and what can be done to
remix it? Apparently it will not come out of the bottle it is so thick.
Thanks in advance.
