It never came up. Lots and lots of submitted questions were about
duration, and the first time I did the WHO 6mo/2yr spiel, with Jack
Newman's 3-5 years tacked on. And each time the question came up, I
said, as long as mom and baby both want to, and 3-5 years is normal. I
think repetition just made it seem normal.
They were quite outraged when I quoted the abyssmal stats on initiation
in Missouri. I phrased it as "almost half of babies born here never
once breastfeed. Not even once." Deviously mentioned *after* we hit on
things like IQ.
