I found a formula for calculating the costs on the Waba site and have
calculated the costs for formula in The Netherlands.
http://www.waba.org.my/wbw/wbw98/whattodo.htm : Calculate the cost of
ABS in your country and how much food that would buy for the family.
A baby needs 2.5 kg of ABS powder in the first month, 3.2 kg the
second month, and 4 kg per month after that. Find the cost per kg of
a locally popular brand of ABS (infant formula) and you can use these
figures to calculate the total cost of ABS for six months of
artificial feeding. But remember that there are many other costs!
I have calculated one new bottle and each month, to keep it
conservative.
Earler this year the costs of one year on Frisolac (Friesland
Nutrition's basic formula) were E 666,79
I have made a simple excellsheet that you are welcome to use.

Right now Nutrilon (Nutricia's brand) is E 658,55 (or without the
bottle: E 598,55, using the cheapest brand www.kelkoo.nl found on the
web.

Of course this does not include heating the water, buying water if
using bottled water, cleaning the bottles, cleaning parafenalia, etc.
