Nancy,
I believe that the soft stool effect is the result of the nucleotides they
first added in the 90s. That's when they started advertising that Similac
produces stools more like those of a breastfed baby. The nucleotides didn't do
anything else measurable, but they considered this a serendipitous result.
Sorry that you sister has a struggle with her health, glad she had her baby
and has you for a sister!

Because of a severe illness and multiple medications my youngest sister is
unable to breastfeed and is using Similac. I have been helping to care for
her
newborn baby girl and have been surprised at how soft, yellow and squirty the
baby's stools are. While I am sad that she is not getting breastmilk, she is
growing and thriving. She does not have diarrhea, but the stools look very
much like breastmilk stools!
Have others seen this?
Nancy
