Does the 3 year old sibling have caries? If so, treating them will
reduce the Strep mutans in his saliva, and reduce the risk of
transmission to the infant. So far, both my teens (15 and 18) are still
caries free, and I used to sometimes spoon feed them together from the
same spoon and bowl, one spoonful for her, one for him. I was also a
toothbrushing maniac (twice a day, every day from the time they had
teeth) and breastfed ad lib day and night.
