Since the BF hormones come from the Anterior Pituitary (prolactin)and
Posterior Pituitary (oxytocin), and lactogenesis is dependent on the rapid
drop in pregnancy hormones and prolactin/oxytocin response to suckling, I
don't see why you need to anticipate a problem with BF, especially since
mom notes breast changes.
I'd want to be sure she has optimal access to baby post birth and hope you
have tutored her in demand->supply. If everyone confuses the 2 (hormones
for pg vs hormones for BF) and thinks she won't be able to do it and
convince her of same, then she will fail :-( A long time ago Kitty Frantz
made the comment that BF was a confidence game. I think that really applies
to ths mom. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
