A local equipment company has been selling breastpumps like crazy. There is
this new fad in my community to just pump and give the breastmilk by bottle. I
know I read or learned somewhere that this is not a good practice, but I
cannot find any literature to support me. I feel that breastpumps rented or sold
should only be done once reason has been explored as to its use. Am I wrong?
This company is adjunct to our hospital and originally there was a verbal
agreement that I would be the only one issuing pumps, but they have found a gold mine
in selling pumps. I need something to back me up. Our breastfeeding rates are
in the basement!!!!!! HELP
