"Infant mortality due to improper breastfeeding: report:

[Health India] New Delhi, Sep 18 : The high rate of infant mortality in
India is directly related to improper breastfeeding, a new survey has
revealed."

This is the bizarre beginning to an otherwise sensible story which
explicitly lays the blame for the high infant mortality rate on FAILURE TO
BREASTFEED.

What can the editor have been thinking? Is this a simple error in
translation, or an attempt to shock the public and increase readership?

I suspect that in fact it is just a commercial and poorly done rehash of a
real news source and yes, the headline was meant to shock and capture
readers' attention. Unfortunately, all some people read are the headlines.
