I think this mother is doing fabulously for the amount of time she wasn't breastfeeding. I have heard it said that it can take as long to get back to a full milk supply (if they ever do) as the time they were not breastfeeding. So someone who stopped three weeks ago, might need 3 weeks to get back her supply. Mom needs to be pumping or nursing about 8-10 times a day. In the middle of the night also. Hopefully on a full or mid size hospital quality double electric pump, 15-20 minutes if she doesn't nurse the baby, maybe 10 minutes after nursing. Relactation is possible but you don't always get back a full milk supply. I say she is doing great, though! She is very lucky her baby will latch on, too. Also have her breastfeed before baby eats her solid foods.
