Spontaneous leaking of some drops of milk from newborns (sometimes called
"witches' milk") is a normal variation. I don't know how often it occurs,
but I have seen it only rarely. As I understand it, it is a result of some
of mom's hormones crossing the placenta to the baby. After it came up in a
rerun of the King of the Hill cartoon, I started to wonder-is there any
correlation between it and moms who leak colostrum during pregnancy and/or
seem to have copious milk supplies right from the first nursing? Just
musing-
Winnie
